Good Sunday, everyone. Our super-soaker of a Kentucky Derby Day is behind us and now it’s time to focus on the pattern coming in behind it. If you’re a fan of showers and storms, this is a good looking pattern for you, with several systems set to impact our region over the next week.<\/p>\n

Morning rain pulls quickly away from eastern Kentucky, leaving us with a mix of sun and clouds and temps in the 70s. Winds will be rather gusty as we await the arrival of a cold front later this evening. That will touch off a few showers and thunderstorms across our area, and a few could be strong. I will have your tracking toys in a bit.<\/p>\n

Cooler winds will blow on Monday, with leftover showers hanging around eastern parts of the state…<\/p>\n

Temps may stay in the 60s for highs across the eastern half of the state.<\/p>\n

Warmer winds return on Tuesday with temps deep into the 70s with a mix of sun and clouds. Temps head toward 80 on Wednesday as we get ready for another system to work in here from the west and northwest. A few strong to severe storms are possible from later Wednesday into Thursday…<\/p>\n

A few more showers and storms hang around into Friday, with a more potent cold front approaching next weekend. That should also bring showers and storms back into the region…<\/p>\n
