Good Friday, everyone. We are dealing with a lot of steamy air pressing into the bluegrass state, and this air will help touch off rounds of showers and storms. That’s especially true as a front settles into the region and slows down.<\/p>\n

Temps today surge into the mid and upper 80s for much of central and eastern Kentucky, with a 90 showing up in a few spots. Low 90s are possible across the west.\u00a0 A few showers and thunderstorms may fire up later this afternoon into the evening, especially in the north. There is even an outside chance for a few strong storms. Here’s the Severe Weather Outlook from the Storm Prediction Center…<\/p>\n

As out cold front settles farther south on Saturday, additional showers and storms will fire up across the bluegrass state. Some of those could be strong or locally severe…<\/p>\n

I’m more concerned about the heavy rain potential this weekend into early next week. There’s a lot of moisture available for these storms to tap, so cloudbursts are a possibility once again. We will also need to be on guard for repeat storms moving over the same piece of real estate…<\/p>\n
