I wanted to drop by for a quick update on the rounds of storms moving across the region. Nothing has changed with my thought process, as the flash flood potential is elevated over the next few days.<\/p>\n<p>In the near-term, the short range model known as the RAP is developing targeting areas of central and eastern Kentucky for some big rains through tonight&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/?attachment_id=30286\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-30286\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-30286\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/RAP.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"399\" height=\"252\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/RAP.png 399w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/RAP-300x189.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 399px) 100vw, 399px\" \/><\/a>Keep in mind that models can vary greatly with rainfall placements and totals. Exact placement of thunderstorms is a tall task, but it&#8217;s the trend to look for.<\/p>\n<p>Even on the larger scale models, we are seeing some very hefty totals.
