Friday&#8217;s severe weather event turned into a biggie for many area of the bluegrass state. Wind damage was extensive as storms packed hurricane force gusts across areas of central Kentucky. Now, we focus on more rounds of showers and storms rumbling across the state this weekend and into next week.<\/p>\n<p>A huge upper level low spins into the Ohio Valley today, with spiraling bands of showers and storms around it. The action is pretty scattered early today, but will increase this afternoon and evening. Additional strong to locally severe storms are possible&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.spc.noaa.gov\/public\/state\/images\/KY_swody1.png\" width=\"1000\" height=\"750\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This low will then sit and spin right on top of us into early next week, bringing more rounds of rain and storms&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/?attachment_id=30665\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-30665\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-30665\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/GFS-1.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"786\" \/><\/a>Locally heavy rains and cooler than normal temps show up under that low. You will also notice the big area of low pressure rolling up the east coast this weekend. That almost has a tropical\/hybrid look to it.<\/p>\n<p>The shower and storm action doesn&#8217;t stop there.
