Good Wednesday, my friends. We have made it to the middle of the work week and we’re seeing a wide array of weather across the state today. Warmer and brighter days are ahead of us to close out the week. It’s the weekend and early next week time period that continues to get my attention.<\/p>\n
Showers will be skirting across parts eastern and southeastern Kentucky today as low pressure works from the south into the Carolinas. A few of these showers may even be into central parts of the state very early this morning. This means a big temp swing from west to east. Readings will range from low 70s west to upper 50s to near 60 in the rainy areas of the southeast.<\/p>\n
Warmer air surges in for Thursday and Friday as everyone sees thermometers heading into the mid and upper 70s. Gusty southwesterly winds will accompany a partly to mostly sunny sky.<\/p>\n
This is where things begin to get a little crazy. We will see a huge dip in the jet stream across the eastern part of the country. This will allow for a sizeable storm to develop across the south that will then slowly work into the Mid Atlantic states by Sunday and Monday. We should also see a nice little cutoff low in the upper levels of the atmosphere spinning very close by.<\/p>\n
Models always have a tough time pegging where these types of storms and this one is no different. One thing is for sure… there is a winter look the models are showing…<\/p>\n
