Good afternoon, gang. Rounds of heavy rain producing showers and storms keep pushing across the state from southwest to northeast. This action will continue through the middle of the week, raising high water fears. Some of the storms may also become strong or severe.<\/p>\n

The WPC has much of central Kentucky in a Moderate Risk for flooding through tonight…<\/p>\n

This is the area that picked up severe flooding on Sunday and can’t hold another drop of rain. With the rain increasing later today into tonight, the situation may get pretty dicey. Here are the latest watches and warnings…<\/p>\n

As mentioned, some of the storms may also become strong or severe. The SPC has a low-end severe risk today…<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The severe storms risk increases on Tuesday…<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

That risk area will sink farther south Tuesday night and early Wednesday. That’s when a cold front drops into the region, finally pushing the heavy rain and storms east of us. Much cooler air filters in behind it.<\/p>\n

To recap, the flood threat is significant through Wednesday. Flash flooding and river flooding may become a big issue for some. A few of the storms may also be strong or severe, producing damaging winds, hail and a tornado or two.<\/p>\n
