Rain rolls into Kentucky later today ahead of a system that will bring even colder air our way later this weekend. This continues to be part of pretty active setup that threatens to develop a big system for the final week of the month.<\/p>\n<p>Let&#8217;s begin with today and roll forward. A touch of frost starts the day with temps in the 30s. Clouds will quickly increase as rain develops during the afternoon and evening. That may mean some soggy high school football games&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/builder.zoomradar.net\/zoomradar_weather_map\/weather_page.php?key=9nNfA2mOMDiJ4LG\" width=\"560\" height=\"462\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" seamless=\"seamless\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Temps ahead of the rain will spike into the\u00a060s, then drop as the drops start falling.<\/p>\n<p>Saturday is an interesting day with gusty winds and another front dropping in during the evening. That front may bring a gusty round of showers in here. The NAM is trying its very best to spit out an overnight flake in the mountains of southeastern Kentucky&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/NAM-2-1.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-31783\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/NAM-2-1.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"783\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The GFS is seeing the flake action just to our north and east&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/GFS-Snow-2.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-31788\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/GFS-Snow-2.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"798\" height=\"771\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/GFS-Snow-2.png 798w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/GFS-Snow-2-300x290.png 300w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/GFS-Snow-2-768x742.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 798px) 100vw, 798px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Temps crash from northwest to southeast during the evening as it turns cold. This sets the stage for temps to tank by Sunday morning with readings in the upper 20s to low 30s. Winds may gust from 30-40mph at times.<\/p>\n<p>Wind chills are going to come into play during this time. Winds will make it feel chillier than that.<\/p>\n<p>The first half of next week looks very nice as temps make a run into the 60s with mainly dry weather.<\/p>\n<p>For the past week and change, I&#8217;ve been talking about a big amplification in the overall pattern for the last week of October.
