It&#8217;s a cold start to the first weekend of November as temps couldn&#8217;t get out of the 40s for most areas. Scattered showers continue to be on the move, but our focus is quickly shifting to a big storm system early next week.<\/p>\n<p>In the short-term, let&#8217;s track a few chilly showers&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.accuweather.com\/radar-large.asp?partner=netweather&amp;traveler=0&amp;site=KY_&amp;type=SIR&amp;anim=1&amp;level=state&amp;large=1#\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/sirocco.accuweather.com\/nx_mosaic_640x480_public\/sir\/inmaSIRKY_.gif\" alt=\"\" usemap=\"#largemap\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>A weak cold front moves through here on Sunday, bringing a few showers from west to east as the day wears on&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/GFS-1.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-32097\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/GFS-1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"326\" height=\"407\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/GFS-1.png 326w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/GFS-1-240x300.png 240w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 326px) 100vw, 326px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I have no changes on the big storm system moving in here late Monday into Tuesday. This will be a powerhouse of a storm that brings high winds and severe storms into the region.<\/p>\n<p>The models are all over this storm&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/GFS-1.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-32102\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/GFS-1.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"786\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Winds with this may be absolutely crazy. Gusts of 60mph or greater are possible Monday night and early Tuesday. The European Model has hurricane force wind gusts showing up&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/Euro-2-1.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-32100\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/Euro-2-1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"975\" height=\"1335\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/Euro-2-1.png 975w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/Euro-2-1-219x300.png 219w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/Euro-2-1-768x1052.png 768w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/Euro-2-1-748x1024.png 748w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 975px) 100vw, 975px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s just absurd and would be enough to cause major wind damage without the help of true severe storms.<\/p>\n<p>Colder air surges in behind that with another system set to pounce by Thursday and Friday. Many models have been giving us a chance at the first snowflakes on the backside of this system&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/GFS-2-1.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-32103\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/GFS-2-1.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"786\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s a lot of VERY cold air coming in behind this system.
