It&#8217;s a rather bumpy Saturday with\u00a0rounds of showers and storms rolling across the state. It&#8217;s not the typical opening day for December, but nothing about our weather pattern is anything close to typical anymore.<\/p>\n<p>Strong storms continue to push across the state and I will get you the tracking tools in a bit. First, let&#8217;s talk about the upcoming change back to winter.<\/p>\n<p>After a very windy and nice Sunday, temps begin to fall on Monday as a cold front moves in. That front may touch off a shower or two in the afternoon, with a few flakes flying Monday night. Periods of light snow and snow showers will then settle in for Tuesday and Wednesday&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/GFS-2.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-32793\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/GFS-2.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1704\" height=\"458\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/GFS-2.png 1704w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/GFS-2-300x81.png 300w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/GFS-2-768x206.png 768w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/GFS-2-1024x275.png 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1704px) 100vw, 1704px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Some light accumulations are possible as cold air takes control of the pattern, once again.<\/p>\n<p>Keep an eye on late Thursday or Thursday night for a possible light snow maker. That&#8217;s been showing up more and more of late, but I&#8217;m not quite sold on it yet.<\/p>\n<p>The potential storm system for the weekend continues to show up well on the models. This is a signal I&#8217;ve been talking about for about a week, now. While the models have a fairly significant storm, they differ on exactly what to do with it.<\/p>\n<p>The European Model continues to show a healthy snow hit&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/Euro.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-32789\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/Euro.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1711\" height=\"1432\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/Euro.png 1711w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/Euro-300x251.png 300w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/Euro-768x643.png 768w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/Euro-1024x857.png 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1711px) 100vw, 1711px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The new version of the GFS has a similar look&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/GFS-1.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-32792\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/GFS-1.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"786\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The GFS shows a different solution with each run, but that&#8217;s to be expected from this far out. The latest run is the farthest north of all the models&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/GFS-2.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-32790\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/GFS-2.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"786\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Ensembles are more in line with the operational European.
