Cold air continues to settle into the region from the northwest. This is being accompanied by a few showers that will change to snow showers later today into tonight. This kicks off a very wintry setup for the rest of the week as we watch to see what kind of impact a late week\/weekend winter storm may have on our weather.<\/p>\n<p>In the short term, temps continue to hang out in the upper 30s and low 40s. Showers will increase with flakes kicking in during the evening&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/sirocco.accuweather.com\/nx_mosaic_640x480_public\/sir\/inmaSIRKY_.gif\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Periods of light snow and snow showers will be around Tuesday into Wednesday, with light accumulations likely. While we are definitely in the game to be impacted by this storm, it&#8217;s too early for any kind of specifics. It all depends on the track of the low and we are still a few days away from having that one figured out.<\/p>\n<p>The Canadian continues with a big Kentucky hit&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/canadian-4.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-32851\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/canadian-4.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"786\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The new version of the GFS is also a huge Kentucky hit&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/GFS-3-2.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-32862\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/GFS-3-2.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"786\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The ICON has a similar setup&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/ICON.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-32855\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/ICON.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"786\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The bias of the GFS is for the model to be too far south and east with storm systems.
