Good Monday everyone and welcome to the first full week of June. The week is starting off on a stormy note for parts of the state as a system works in from the northwest. This will knock our temps back down to below normal levels over the next several days. That said… I am tracking a big warm up for the upcoming weekend.<\/p>\n

Showers and thunderstorms will be more common across western and southern Kentucky today. The rest of the state will see isolated to scattered action. There’s a chance some of the storms in the west and far south get a little on the strong side today. Here’s the latest from the Storm Prediction Center…<\/p>\n

High temps today will be a little tricky with the storms around. It’s safe to say mid and upper 70s will be common with some low 80s for any area getting in on a decent amount of sunshine.<\/p>\n

Readings by Tuesday come back down toward the low and mid 70s and that looks to carry us into Wednesday, as well. A leftover shower or thundershower may hang tough into Tuesday and Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Much warmer air is on tap for late this week into the weekend. The European Model shows a big ridge in the east and a trough in the west…<\/p>\n

That pattern should supply us with temps reaching the mid and upper 80s by Saturday and Sunday with a shot at 90 in the west. We should throw a lot more humidity back into the mix and that could lead to a shower or storm by late weekend and early next week.<\/p>\n

This is also a setup that could lead to another tropical system trying to pop close to home off the southeastern coastline. Sensing a seasonal trend? Me too.<\/p>\n
