Good Thursday, everyone. We have another bitterly cold start to the day, but milder days are on the way. As we get set for that transition, we have a bit of a mess rolling in here later tonight into Friday. It’s a fairly week system that can bring a little snow and light freezing rain to town.<\/p>\n

Let’s begin with today and move forward. Temps this morning will be from -10 to +5 across the state. Wind chills will be mainly below zero.<\/p>\n

Southern Kentucky may have\u00a0a few snow covered roads as\u00a0a band of arctic light snow rolls through this very early on.<\/p>\n

The system moving in tonight and early Friday looks to bring a messy mix of light snow and a touch of freezing rain. Given the cold pavement and frozen ground, this will likely cause travel issues again…<\/p>\n

Light accumulations show up on the models, with local 1″ or so snow amounts possible…<\/p>\n

There’s a real chance for a third day in a row of cancellations and delays. I’ll get a call map on that later today.<\/p>\n

Temps behind this system take off and should reach 60 by Sunday or early next week. This strong southwesterly flow should also bring an increase in rain and even a few thunderstorms. Don’t get too used to the mild because arctic air crashes back in for the second half of next week.\u00a0 Waves of winter weather may form along this arctic boundary.<\/p>\n
