We continue to watch a very active weather pattern taking shape for the rest of the week. Heavy rains, strong storms, record highs, some snow and a HUGE temp drop are on the way.<\/p>\n<p>A few showers are showing up this evening, especially across the east. Spring air is ahead of it with bitter cold behind it. That front won&#8217;t make it through here, but it will allow for additional waves of showers and thunderstorms to develop along it through Thursday. This means an increased threat for local high water issues. The WPC continues to put most of the state in the risk for flooding&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/WPC-1.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-34800\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/WPC-1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"394\" height=\"295\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/WPC-1.png 394w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/WPC-1-300x225.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 394px) 100vw, 394px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The European Model is showing the highest totals across north central Kentucky&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/Euro-3.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-34797\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/Euro-3.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"977\" height=\"568\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/Euro-3.png 977w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/Euro-3-300x174.png 300w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/Euro-3-768x446.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 977px) 100vw, 977px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The GFS is now farther south than earlier runs with the axis of heaviest rains&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/GFS-Rain-4.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-34801\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/GFS-Rain-4.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1100\" height=\"802\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/GFS-Rain-4.png 1100w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/GFS-Rain-4-300x219.png 300w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/GFS-Rain-4-768x560.png 768w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/GFS-Rain-4-1024x747.png 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1100px) 100vw, 1100px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>In addition to the high water threat, the potential is there for a few strong storms on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>Not to be outdone in all this&#8230; The temperatures. Highs on Thursday may reach 70-75 in parts of central and eastern Kentucky. From there, temps crash into the 20s by Friday morning and then stay cold. Check out the massive drop&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/GFS-2-4.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-34798\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/GFS-2-4.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"660\" height=\"510\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s impressive and would also come with a period of light snow Thursday night.<\/p>\n<p>The models are finally beginning to sense the amount of cold coming in behind this as it tries to overwhelm the pattern next week.
