Good afternoon and Happy Valentine’s Day. Windy and mild temps will soon give way to a blast of winter weather to start the upcoming weekend. That comes in the form of a fast-moving snow maker for much of the bluegrass state.<\/p>\n

Watch how fast this system works through here from late Friday into Saturday morning…<\/p>\n

Rain initially develops\u00a0during the afternoon then goes over to a mix then\u00a0wet snow.\u00a0Some light freezing rain and sleet may even show up in the transition.<\/p>\n

From there, a swath of wet, accumulating snow shows up from west to east across the state. Here’s the often imitated First Call For Snowfall…<\/p>\n

That looks to be a pretty steady map going forward, but there is a little wiggle room with the 1″-4″ swath. I suspect that may be nudged a little farther south in time. Outside of that corridor, it’s a sharp drop to little or no snow.<\/p>\n

The new GFS is in\u00a0pretty\u00a0good agreement with my map…<\/p>\n

The new version of the GFS is ready to take over as the main GFS and has a similar swath, but ups the totals…<\/p>\n

While I can’t rule that out at the moment, I’ll go ahead and take the under.<\/p>\n
