Good evening, everyone. We have a quick hitting winter weather maker rolling our way late Friday into Friday night. This will have a swatch of accumulating snow with it and may also have an area of freezing rain.<\/p>\n

For that reason, a Winter Weather Advisory is already out for much of Kentucky…<\/p>\n

This should extend through eastern Kentucky and into West Virginia, but… you know how the local NWS offices roll.<\/p>\n

Here’s my latest call for snowfall…<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The WPC is highlighting an area along Interstate 64 for the potential of 4″ or more snows…<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The European Model shows this potential for areas just south of the 64…<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The same model run is also showing a freezing rain threat across the west and south…<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The latest NAM\u00a0 is similar with the snow, but is more amped up with the freezing rain…<\/p>\n

Freezing Rain<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The NEW GFS has a similar swath of snow…<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

And shows the freezing rain potential…<\/p>\n

All of this comes in behind a cold front dropping into the state tonight. That’s touching off a band of showers, which you can see on our regional radar…<\/p>\n
