We have a big time blast of cold air sweeping across the state today and it may even spawn some early morning snowflakes. The good news is that this cold will only last a couple of days before milder air comes back. But, that milder air looks to be accompanied by another active setup.<\/p>\n<p>Let&#8217;s begin with the early morning action pushing across the eastern half of the state. Showers may end as a period of light snow and flurries&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.accuweather.com\/radar-large.asp?partner=netweather&amp;traveler=0&amp;site=KY_&amp;type=SIR&amp;anim=1&amp;level=state&amp;large=1#\"><strong><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"jetpack-lazy-image jetpack-lazy-image--handled\" src=\"http:\/\/sirocco.accuweather.com\/nx_mosaic_640x480_public\/sir\/inmaSIRKY_.gif\" alt=\"\" usemap=\"#largemap\" data-lazy-loaded=\"1\" \/><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Temps this morning will reach the 20s in several areas. Skies will become partly to mostly sunny as the day wears on with temps in the 40s. A hard freeze is likely across the entire region tonight and Monday morning as temps reach deep into the 20s&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/GFS-16.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-35786\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/GFS-16.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"643\" height=\"631\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/GFS-16.png 643w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/GFS-16-300x294.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 643px) 100vw, 643px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Temps begin to moderate by the afternoon and that continues through the week. Highs by Wednesday and Thursday may make a run at 70 as winds become southwesterly.<\/p>\n<p>This takes us into a pattern that will feature storm systems rolling from west to east across the country.
