A strong cold front will blast through the region this evening and this front will likely produce a round of severe storms. We have set the blog up with your usual storm tracking tools.

Here is a breakdown…

– Scattered showers and storms will be possible early today across western and central Kentucky.

– A squall line of storms will come racing eastward across the state this afternoon into the evening. This will be the prime time for severe weather.

– Damaging winds will be the main threat with this line. Large hail and an isolated tornado will also be possible.

– In addition to the severe weather aspect… these storms will put down a lot of rain across central and eastern parts of the state. Up to 2″ will be possible in some areas.

– Regardless of thunderstorms… winds today into tonight will be a major player.
