What a Friday of wild weather across the bluegrass state. We had one of the hottest days on record and had storms pound parts of the area with damaging winds. I will say it until I&#8217;m blue in the face&#8230; extreme is the new normal. We should have another extreme weather day going out there today with triple digit temps and some storms cranking.<\/p>\n<p>A derecho formed near Chicago early Friday and then took a southeasterly turn into the Ohio Valley. This bad boy grazed northern and eastern Kentucky with damaging winds of 70mph. This complex of storms also sent out a belch of wind into areas of the state that didn&#8217;t receive a drop of rain. The atmosphere may try to spin up something similar and that&#8217;s something we will need to watch for. Outside of any possible storms&#8230; temps will hit 100 degrees again in many areas.
