We have a weak cold front on top of the region today and it&#8217;s bringing a little better brand of air to town. This may also touch off a scattered shower or storm as our above normal temperature pattern hangs around. I&#8217;ll look for any signs of true fall weather and look farther down the road with one of the winter seasonal models.<\/p>\n<p>As is usually the case, we begin with the precious present. Today&#8217;s front isn&#8217;t very active but may touch off a scattered shower or thunderstorm in the far west or south, but don&#8217;t hold your breath on it\u2026<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.accuweather.com\/radar-large.asp?partner=netweather&amp;traveler=0&amp;site=KY_&amp;type=SIR&amp;anim=1&amp;level=state&amp;large=1#\"><strong><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"jetpack-lazy-image jetpack-lazy-image--handled\" src=\"http:\/\/sirocco.accuweather.com\/nx_mosaic_640x480_public\/sir\/inmaSIRKY_.gif\" alt=\"\" usemap=\"#largemap\" data-lazy-loaded=\"1\" \/><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Hurricane Humberto continues to push farther east out to sea, but the storm appears to be slowing down as it does so&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"coneimage\" class=\"jetpack-lazy-image jetpack-lazy-image--handled\" src=\"https:\/\/www.nhc.noaa.gov\/storm_graphics\/AT09\/refresh\/AL092019_5day_cone_no_line_and_wind+png\/025944_5day_cone_no_line_and_wind.png\" alt=\"cone graphic\" data-lazy-loaded=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<p>That slow movement continues to clog up the pattern behind it across North America. Notice how we do get in on more of a east to northeast flow over the next few days&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/GFS-12.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-37113\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/GFS-12.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"786\" \/><\/a>The farther east you are in Kentucky, the more pleasant it will be. The farther west, the warmer. Can we squeeze out an isolated shower or storm? The latest run shows the propensity for a ridge in the west and a trough in the east from November through March.
