Old Man Winter is returning to the bluegrass state today as we track rain changing to snow this afternoon and evening. Behind that comes a couple of clippers to finish out the rest of February. We are likely to, at least, see snows flying on the final 4 days of the month. That would mark the most consecutive days with flakes of the entire winter.<\/p>\n<p>Here are some quick thoughts on where we go with all this:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Rain this morning will switch to light snow from west to east this afternoon and evening.<\/li>\n<li>Minor accumulations show up as snow showers kick in overnight and early Thursday. The higher ground of the southeast will do better than the rest of the area. Coatings up to an inch are possible on grassy and elevated surfaces, especially.<\/li>\n<li>With Thursday morning temps in the 20s, slick spots may cause some delays and cancellations. If you do get some accumulations, it&#8217;s gone by the afternoon.<\/li>\n<li>The next light snow maker arrives from the west and northwest Thursday night and early Friday. The timing on this could make for a messy morning commute. An inch or so of snow may fall from this system. Much of that may melt away later in the day.<\/li>\n<li>Another light snow maker works in on Saturday, but doesn&#8217;t look as much of a problem as the Friday one. Still, minor accumulations will be possible for the 4th day in a row for some.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In terms of snowfall, remember we get melting between each light snow event through Saturday. The model output is showing how much snow falls during this entire time and is not showing actual snow depth.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s the NAM through Friday night&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a a hurry and may push 60. 60s are likely much of next week and that&#8217;s when we will be on guard for some big storm and heavy rains.<\/p>\n<p>I will have updates later today and I have you all set
