Good Friday to one and all. The recent cold snap has been very impressive and has put our average temp for the month well below normal. Mother nature is going to try to balance out the force over the next several days as we get in on some warmer air… just in time for the weekend.<\/p>\n
We do have a weak system working across the state today and it’s bringing some scattered showers and thundershowers with it. The best chance for rain will be early today and across southern and western Kentucky. Some afternoon sunshine will be noted as our winds gust up.<\/p>\n
A warmer wind blows for Saturday as thermometers head into the middle 70s. This will be a fantastic day to take a little trip out to a pumpkin patch or just go for a walk in the woods to check out the gorgeous fall colors.<\/p>\n
While we are enjoying a great Saturday, areas just to our west in the plains will likely see an outbreak of strong and severe storms. That is in response to a storm system working toward the Great Lakes. That storm drags a cold front into Kentucky on Sunday and this will have a band of showers and storms with it. These storms look to behave themselves as of now. The NAM Simulated Radar isn’t impressed with this line…<\/p>\n
Cooler air will move in behind the front for Monday as many areas stay in the 50s for highs. All of this happens as we track what may be a MUCH bigger storm for the second half of next week.
