It&#8217;s another chilly and dreary day in the bluegrass state, but the focus of the forecast is on a potent storm system coming our way later this week. This will try to merge with the leftovers of Zeta to bring a lot of rain and gusty winds to Kentucky.<\/p>\n<p>Temps this afternoon are mainly in the 50s with a few 60s in the far southeast. Clouds are common and will spit out a few showers from time to time. Here are your radars&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/builder.zoomradar.net\/zoomradar_weather_map\/weather_page.php?key=dlFZs5IY4VCw7bK\" width=\"560\" height=\"450\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" seamless=\"seamless\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sirocco.accuweather.com\/nx_mosaic_640x480_public\/sir\/inmaSIRKY_.gif\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Tuesday actually looks a little colder with some areas back into the upper 40s for highs. There&#8217;s also a better chance for rain showing up, with some downpours a good bet across the west and north.<\/p>\n<p>Hurricane Zeta is still on a collision course with Louisiana later Wednesday. Here&#8217;s the latest from the National Hurricane Center&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.nhc.noaa.gov\/storm_graphics\/AT28\/refresh\/AL282020_5day_cone_no_line_and_wind+png\/205453_5day_cone_no_line_and_wind.png\" alt=\"cone graphic\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Notice the cone is a little farther south, but that&#8217;s only tracking the center of circulation. Actual tropical rains will be well out ahead of this and should arrive in Kentucky on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, we will watch our storm system rolling in here from the southwest. That tries to absorb what&#8217;s left of Zeta or, at least, pulls in a lot of the moisture from it. The end result would be rounds of heavy rain, thunderstorms and gusty winds around here through Friday.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s how the models handle it&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>The NAM only goes through Thursday evening&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/NAM-18.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-44458\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/NAM-18.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"984\" height=\"808\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The GFS continues to be the most progressive&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/GFS-38.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-44457\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/GFS-38.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"984\" height=\"808\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Canadian is steady as she goes&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/CANADIAN-23.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-44462\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/CANADIAN-23.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"984\" height=\"808\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The EURO looks a lot like the Canadian&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/EURO-21.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-44461\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/EURO-21.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"984\" height=\"808\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>That turns into a big northeastern snowstorm. Here&#8217;s what it means for us&#8230;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Rounds of rain and a few thunderstorms Wednesday through Friday.<\/li>\n<li>Rainfall amounts of a few inches will be possible.<\/li>\n<li>Wind gusts of 30mph or a little greater may also show up.<\/li>\n<li>Temps will spike during this time, but come crashing down for Friday. Highs then are only in the 40s.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Another cold front follows that up for Sunday with even colder air to kick off November.
