It&#8217;s another dreary day in the bluegrass state as low clouds and a few showers hang tough. The focus continues to be on a big storm system rolling in here for the next few days, bringing the potential for heavy rain and gusty winds. This continues to be one super-active setup to close out October.<\/p>\n<p>Today&#8217;s showers are more prominent across the west and north&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/builder.zoomradar.net\/zoomradar_weather_map\/weather_page.php?key=dlFZs5IY4VCw7bK\" width=\"560\" height=\"450\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" seamless=\"seamless\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sirocco.accuweather.com\/nx_mosaic_640x480_public\/sir\/inmaSIRKY_.gif\" \/><\/p>\n<p>My thought process on the next few days remains unchanged:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>This is a late Wednesday through Friday morning event.<\/li>\n<li>Rounds of heavy rain and thunderstorms will move across the state during this time.<\/li>\n<li>Rainfall amounts of 1\u2033-3\u2033 will be possible, with locally higher amounts if storms do in fact crank.<\/li>\n<li>Wind gusts of 30mph-40mph will be noted as the low pressure tracks across the region Thursday into Thursday night. Higher gusts will be possible.<\/li>\n<li>Temps spike to near 70 for some areas for a short time on Thursday, but crash down behind the low on Friday. Temps for Friday are in the 30s to start and may not get out of the low and middle 40s for highs. This storm is barreling toward Louisiana and the center should pass just to our southeast&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.nhc.noaa.gov\/storm_graphics\/AT28\/refresh\/AL282020_5day_cone_no_line_and_wind+png\/205453_5day_cone_no_line_and_wind.png\" alt=\"cone graphic\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Halloween continues to look seasonally chilly with frost in the morning and mid to upper 50s in the afternoon.<\/p>\n<p>A stronger push of cold air comes in behind another front slamming in here late Sunday.
