<\/p>\nGood Thursday, folks. Our next weather maker is currently pressing in from the west and is set to bring rain and some snow to the bluegrass state. This continues to be part of a very active setup, featuring a lot of upper lows that are tough to track and time properly. It’s also a pattern that continues to be skewed colder than normal for the start of December.<\/p>\n
The system to our west will throw some light rain and a touch of a mix into western Kentucky early today. Dry air is in place for the rest of the state, so most of that moisture has a tough time making it too far east. That same dry air may also mean if a shower does make it in, a touch of sleet would be possible. No worries as temps are above freezing. Here’s regional radar…<\/p>\n

We continue to see more and more of the models trending toward the original setup from a few days ago. That means a cold, cold rain for Friday that has a CHANCE to end as wet snow Friday night and early Saturday across some areas of central and eastern Kentucky. This isn’t set in stone by any means.<\/p>\n
The NAM fam is now really picking up on this. The Hi Res NAM only goes through 7am Saturday…<\/p>\n

High temps may be way down there in the low 30s…<\/p>\n The new GFS is trending toward a similar solution with rain ending as some snow in the east…<\/p>\n The EURO has it, then rushes the system through pretty quickly on the new run. keeping it mainly rain…<\/p>\n Incidentally, the EURO does start Friday morning action as a bit of a mix in the north. Here are the areas it thinks can start as a brief mix…<\/p>\n Another system dives in behind this and may bring some light snow and flurries to us from late Sunday into Monday, but the models don’t agree on this, either. Regardless, this keeps our temps well below normal.<\/p>\n The models also disagree on the setup\u00a0 through next week.
