Good evening, folks. Our cold front is working into western Kentucky right now and will zip across the rest of the state tonight and early Friday. This will unleash rounds of snow squalls and light snow through the weekend and into early next week.<\/p>\n

A snowfall forecast for these setups is a bit difficult since squalls can put down some heavier totals. Here’s a generalized First Call For Snowfall through Monday…<\/p>\n

Again, some pockets in there can get more than that, but pinpointing those can be tough. Plus, this is only a First Call and if I make any changes going forward, it would be to adjust totals up.<\/p>\n

The upper level lows mean business as they work in here and can sometimes really become overachievers. We are seeing that playing out right now in parts of Iowa, Nebraska and Minnesota where a Blizzard Warning has been issued.<\/p>\n

Hopefully, Winter Weather Advisories are issued for the entire region starting late tomorrow and going through the weekend. Recent history suggests these may not get issued until after the fact.<\/p>\n

The future radar from the NAM goes through 1am Monday. Let’s start this out at 7am Friday and let it roll…<\/p>\n

At no point are you likely to measure any of those totals at one time. Those numbers are cumulative through Monday.<\/p>\n
