We’ve made it to the end of the week and we have a half and half weather weekend kicking off. The first part looks good, but the second part is when things get active. A strong low pressure will roll toward the state during this time and will bring a lot of rain with it. That may cause some issues as we kick off a very busy setup.

Before we get into that, let’s harken back to 5 years ago when a shutdown snowstorm was raging across the state: 2016 Snowstorm . That was the third major snowstorm within a year across Kentucky in what was one of the more extreme winter weather patterns in recorded history. Many seem to conveniently forget about this period when talking about how “it never snows around here”. 😜

The weather is much calmer out there today and that continues into Saturday, so get out and take advantage of it.

A strong storm system will then roll our way from late Sunday through early Tuesday and this will likely bring heavy rain to much of the state. Watch how the low moves right over us…

The potential for several inches of rain is there and this could cause some issues before all is said and done.
