Good evening, folks. We continue to track a light snow maker toward parts of the state tonight, with a bigger system taking shape for Saturday night and early Sunday. That system targets the southern and southeastern areas of the state with the best snow potential and that’s why we have a Winter Storm Threat in the southeast.<\/p>\n

That simply means some areas have the potential for 4″ of snow out of this setup. If that threat looks more likely, then we will upgrade to an Alert. If not, then we go along our merry way with slightly lower totals.<\/p>\n

The late day GFS continues to show this coming together…<\/p>\n

Again, this is targeting the southeast with the most and that’s the area I’ve been highlighting…<\/p>\n

The setup after this remains the same, but you will continue to see model oscillations with multiple systems impacting our region with winter weather and snow chances…<\/p>\n

And it still unleashes the brutal cold…<\/p>\n

To illustrate the potential over the next 2 weeks, the average snowfall of the 51 member EURO Ensembles…<\/p>\n

For the model average to be that high, it’s sniffing out a bunch of threats.<\/p>\n
