Our Super Bowl weekend is kicking off on a wintry note for many across the state. A dual area of low pressure is working toward the region right now with light rain and snow breaking out from south to north.<BR><BR>The best area for accumulating snows will be across western and northern Kentucky where a general 1&#8243;-3&#8243; will fall. I wouldn&#8217;t rule out someone picking up 4&#8243; out of this as it appears to be an overachiever. We will likely see a switch to a round of snow late Monday with snow showers and squalls into early Tuesday. The setup with this situation is likely to crank up another big northeastern U.S. storm during this time. That MAY impact the storm behind it for the middle and end of next week.<BR><BR>Speaking of that storm&#8230; the European and Canadian models are all over it. The European is spitting out a big hitting snow for the entire state&#8230;<BR><BR><IMG style=\"BORDER-RIGHT: 0px solid; BORDER-TOP: 0px solid; BORDER-LEFT: 0px solid; BORDER-BOTTOM: 0px solid\" src=\"http:\/\/images.quickblogcast.com\/0\/4\/8\/0\/3\/139967-130840\/EURO136.PNG?a=85\"><BR><BR>The Canadian is trying to do the same&#8230;<BR><BR><IMG style=\"BORDER-RIGHT: 0px solid; BORDER-TOP: 0px solid; BORDER-LEFT: 0px solid; BORDER-BOTTOM: 0px solid\" src=\"http:\/\/images.quickblogcast.com\/0\/4\/8\/0\/3\/139967-130840\/Canadian55.PNG?a=58\"><BR><BR>The new GFS&#8230; has totally lost the storm&#8230;<BR><BR>Thursday Morning<BR><IMG src=\"http:\/\/www.nco.ncep.noaa.gov\/pmb\/nwprod\/analysis\/namer\/gfs\/18\/images\/gfs_pcp_138s.gif\"><BR><BR>One has to love the GFS and the waffles it serves up. <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/emoticons\/wink.png\" border=\"0\" \/> I honestly hope no one is using the model to base a forecast on right now. If they are&#8230; ummm&#8230; well&#8230; I will remain silent. <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/emoticons\/wink.png\" border=\"0\" \/><BR><BR>There are PLENTY of things that can go wrong with the storm for the end of next week. But it won&#8217;t be because there will be NO storm. If it misses us&#8230; chances are it passes to our south. That said&#8230; we are in the game for this one so don&#8217;t go back and forth with each model run as the pattern strongly suggests a storm!&nbsp;<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/emoticons\/wink.png\" border=\"0\" \/><BR><BR>I will have a full update coming later tonight so check back.
