<\/a><\/p>\nAn early morning wave of showers and thunderstorms is rolling across the region, with the emphasis on the southeast. That’s where a quick inch or two of rain may fall to begin the day, so watch for a few local high water issues.<\/p>\n
The afternoon finds fairly decent weather across the region, but this break will be short-lived. Rounds of heavy rain and thunderstorms surge in from the southwest this evening and take us through Sunday and Sunday night. The initial surge tonight is farther north closer to the Interstate 64 corridor. From there, the focus slowly shifts back toward the south and southeast for the rest of the day. It’s during all this that the greatest risk for flooding and flash flooding shows up.<\/p>\n
