This is a special time of year for the bluegrass state as the eyes of the world are on us for Kentucky Derby Weekend. In terms of the weather, it&#8217;s shaping up to be really nice for the Oaks and Derby, but stormy times are set to return soon thereafter.<\/p>\n<p>Today&#8217;s weather features a cooler and drier wind blowing, but that&#8217;s a g0od thing. It keeps our skies partly to mostly sunny with highs ranging from the mid and upper 60s east to the low and mid 70s west.<\/p>\n<p>Kentucky Derby Saturday likely starts with a touch of frost across parts of central and eastern Kentucky as temps drop into the 30s&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/NAM-6.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-48736\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/NAM-6.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"964\" height=\"760\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/NAM-6.png 964w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/NAM-6-300x237.png 300w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/NAM-6-768x605.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 964px) 100vw, 964px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The afternoon looks awesome with highs in the 70s.<\/p>\n<p>A warm and moist southwest wind kicks in for Sunday and carries us into next week. This will interact with several systems working through the Ohio Valley and will kick off rounds of showers and thunderstorms&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/EURO-3-2.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-48741\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/EURO-3-2.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"984\" height=\"808\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s an increasing signal for another blast of chilly weather late next week into the following weekend&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/EURO-25.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-48739\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/EURO-25.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"984\" height=\"808\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s actually a very ugly setup taking us into Mother&#8217;s Day Weekend as it tries to replicate what happened last year. Does that continue into the summer?
