Hot and humid weather continues across the state over the next few days, but we have a massive change starting by the end of the week. That&#8217;s when we go right back into the pattern we&#8217;ve had for much of the year with a deep trough taking our temps below normal. This setup looks to hang through early August.<\/p>\n<p>Temps out there today are toasty with readings mainly in the upper 80s and low 90s. Heat index numbers can push 100.<\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s still a shot at a storm or two going up, especially across the south and southeast&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/builder.zoomradar.net\/zoomradar_weather_map\/weather_page.php?key=dlFZs5IY4VCw7bK\" width=\"560\" height=\"450\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" seamless=\"seamless\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.accuweather.com\/radar-large.asp?partner=netweather&amp;traveler=0&amp;site=KY_&amp;type=SIR&amp;anim=1&amp;level=state&amp;large=1#\"><strong><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"jetpack-lazy-image jetpack-lazy-image--handled lazyloaded\" src=\"https:\/\/sirocco.accuweather.com\/nx_mosaic_640x480_public\/sir\/inmaSIRKY_.gif\" alt=\"\" usemap=\"#largemap\" data-src=\"https:\/\/sirocco.accuweather.com\/nx_mosaic_640x480_public\/sir\/inmaSIRKY_.gif\" data-lazy-loaded=\"1\" \/><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Temps Wednesday and Thursday reach the 90-95 degree range for many with a heat index topping 100 at times.<\/p>\n<p>A strong cold front puts an end to the heat as it sweeps in here with strong storms late Thursday&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/GFS-21.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-49571\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/GFS-21.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"984\" height=\"808\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This brings below normal temps for the weekend with another system following that up with some storms by Sunday. This will bring even cooler air as the numbers go well below normal for early August. Look at this trough on the EURO&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/EURO-17.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-49566\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/EURO-17.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"984\" height=\"808\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The GFS has a\u00a0 similar thought process, but goes more with a big closed upper low&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/GFS-2-8.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-49572\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/GFS-2-8.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"984\" height=\"808\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This leads to well below normal temps to end July and begin August.
