The Wednesday before Thanksgiving is a tradition here on KWC as we go full blown Planes, Trains and Automobiles. It&#8217;s one of my all-time favorite movies so I strongly recommend checking it out.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/PLANES.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-51445\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/PLANES.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"333\" height=\"500\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/PLANES.jpg 333w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/PLANES-200x300.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 333px) 100vw, 333px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Our busy travel day looks good across the region with temps mainly in the 50s as clouds thicken. These clouds are ahead of a cold front ready to move in here on Thanksgiving Day. Here&#8217;s a breakdown of how the long holiday weekend may play out:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Winds will be very gusty today and increase through tonight. 40mph gusts will be possible for central and western Kentucky.<\/li>\n<li>Rain arrives late tonight and early Thanksgiving in the west and rolls eastward quickly through the day.<\/li>\n<li>Your Thanksgiving Day looks pretty darn soggy, folks.<\/li>\n<li>Temps generally settle into the low and middle 40s as it&#8217;s raining.<\/li>\n<li>Cold air crashes in behind the front late Thursday into Thursday night. The back edge catches the rain shield for a little flake action in the east.<\/li>\n<li>A couple of snow showers and flurries briefly kick in on Friday morning across the eastern half of the state.<\/li>\n<li>Friday is a windy and cold day with wind chills in the teens to start. Highs only get into the 30s with wind chills in the 20s.<\/li>\n<li>Saturday is a decent day ahead of our next system dropping in here later Sunday and Monday. This one may bring some light rain and light snow to the region.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We know it&#8217;s a soggy Thanksgiving with many areas picking up a half inch or so of rain. What about the flake chances? The Hi Res NAM is showing the chance for a few snow showers through 7am Friday&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/NAM-27.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-51451\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/NAM-27.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"984\" height=\"808\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The cold winds are a big player for Thursday and Friday and will really add to the cold.
