As we put the wraps on the final weekend of February, we continue to look ahead toward the fickle month of March. It&#8217;s a month where you can go from severe weather and 70s to snow and 30s in the same day. Will this one be any different? We will take a little look into the first half of the month.<\/p>\n<p>We begin with what&#8217;s happening out there today. A quick-hitting system is pushing across far southern Kentucky to start things out and that may produce a little light rain or light snow. Overall, this is a pretty nice weather day.<\/p>\n<p>Monday is similar to put the wraps on a wild month of February. March then rolls in like a lamb with partly sunny skies and temps ranging from the upper 50s to middle 60s&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/pbs.twimg.com\/media\/FMi6sZhXsAIKAzo?format=png&amp;name=medium\" alt=\"Image\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The numbers try to make a run at 70 by the end of the week&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/pbs.twimg.com\/media\/FMi6sZdWUAUjMVj?format=png&amp;name=medium\" alt=\"Image\" \/><\/p>\n<p>A surge into the 70s is then possible next weekend&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/pbs.twimg.com\/media\/FMi6saPXIAECzic?format=png&amp;name=medium\" alt=\"Image\" \/><\/p>\n<p>That would be ahead of a potent storm plains storm system that would drag a cold front in here with an increasing threat for showers and storms. That likely kicks off a very active second week of March&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/pbs.twimg.com\/media\/FMi7n5FXoAk5xVy?format=png&amp;name=900x900\" alt=\"Image\" \/><\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s a good signal for heavy rain during this time.<\/p>\n<p>The GFS is showing the concern with well above normal precipitation during this time&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/pbs.twimg.com\/media\/FMi6sZdWUAYRekx?format=png&amp;name=medium\" alt=\"Image\" \/><\/p>\n<p>That indicates where we have a battle between spring trying to take control, but winter not wanting to give up. As a matter of fact, indications are that winter does try to flex later in week two.
