It&#8217;s a wild week of weather taking shape across Kentucky as our weather pattern goes to the extreme&#8230; Again. We have everything from strong storms to snowflakes on the way later this week into the coming weekend. Oh boy&#8230; I can&#8217;t wait. &#x1f644;<\/p>\n<p>As usual, let us begin with today and roll forward. Highs are in the 60s with clouds increasing and the chance for a shower or thunderstorm going up in the afternoon and evening. Here are your friendly radars\u2026<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/builder.zoomradar.net\/zoomradar_weather_map\/weather_page.php?key=dlFZs5IY4VCw7bK\" width=\"560\" height=\"450\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" seamless=\"seamless\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.accuweather.com\/radar-large.asp?partner=netweather&amp;traveler=0&amp;site=KY_&amp;type=SIR&amp;anim=1&amp;level=state&amp;large=1#\"><strong><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"jetpack-lazy-image jetpack-lazy-image--handled lazyloaded\" src=\"https:\/\/sirocco.accuweather.com\/nx_mosaic_640x480_public\/sir\/inmaSIRKY_.gif\" alt=\"\" usemap=\"#largemap\" data-src=\"https:\/\/sirocco.accuweather.com\/nx_mosaic_640x480_public\/sir\/inmaSIRKY_.gif\" data-lazy-loaded=\"1\" \/><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This is ahead of a more widespread round of showers and storms later tonight into Tuesday. This comes from low pressure working across the southern Appalachian Mountains and opens the door for a more potent system rolling in behind that later Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>A strong low pressure works into the upper Mississippi Valley and slows down. At the same time, it drags a cold front slowly across Kentucky as a wave of low pressure develops along it&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/pbs.twimg.com\/media\/FPb4c78WYAsxgyf?format=jpg&amp;name=large\" alt=\"Image\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This puts central and eastern Kentucky in the risk area for strong to severe thunderstorms&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/pbs.twimg.com\/media\/FPb4c79XEAYn9GI?format=png&amp;name=900x900\" alt=\"Image\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s where the Storm Prediction is highlighting for the potential for severe storms&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.spc.noaa.gov\/public\/state\/images\/KY_swody3.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This is another big wind maker as cold air crashes in here behind this on Thursday. With a major upper level low spinning over top of us, rounds of rain and snow showers look to develop Thursday night into Friday&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/pbs.twimg.com\/media\/FPb4c74XIAMu5-j?format=jpg&amp;name=large\" alt=\"Image\" \/><\/p>\n<p>As the cold air strengthens, mainly snow showers will be noted for Friday night and Saturday&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/pbs.twimg.com\/media\/FPb4c75X0AUILvM?format=jpg&amp;name=large\" alt=\"Image\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Highs may struggle to get to 40 on Saturday with a wind chill in the 20s. What the holy what is that all about? Well&#8230; It&#8217;s the pattern we&#8217;ve talked about for a few weeks now, so it&#8217;s not a surprise.<\/p>\n<p>Better news rolls in a few days later as a ridge develops across the eastern half of the country next week&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/pbs.twimg.com\/media\/FPb5C5SWUAQ1j1G?format=png&amp;name=medium\" alt=\"Image\" \/><\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s a really warm pattern that can push temps to around 80 degrees on more than one occasion. It&#8217;s also one that can bring a severe weather threat in here.<\/p>\n<p>Again, I don&#8217;t think we are out of the woods from another cold shot or two impacting our region.
