Waves of showers and storms continue to push across the region today and some are on the strong side. This is the opening act to a much bigger severe weather setup coming later Wednesday into Wednesday night.<\/p>\n<p>Let&#8217;s start with today and roll forward. A scattering of thunderstorms will be noted on a very warm and windy day. You will notice a touch of humidity in the air, too.<\/p>\n<p>A few of the storms may be severe, but this doesn&#8217;t look like all day or wall to wall action. Here&#8217;s today&#8217;s Severe Weather Outlook from the Storm Prediction Center&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.spc.noaa.gov\/public\/state\/images\/KY_swody1.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The greatest severe weather threat comes Wednesday, specifically Wednesday evening into Wednesday night.\u00a0 Here&#8217;s the Severe Weather Outlook from the Storm Prediction Center&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.spc.noaa.gov\/public\/state\/images\/KY_swody2.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s a very ominous threat and for good reason. Here&#8217;s a little bit about how the day may play out:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A few strong storms may be noted during the daytime hours, well ahead of the main risk.<\/li>\n<li>Winds will be gusty as temps hit the 70s for many.<\/li>\n<li>A line of severe storms should develop just to the west of the state during the afternoon.<\/li>\n<li>This line rolls into western Kentucky during the evening with damaging winds, large hail and a few tornadoes.<\/li>\n<li>That line gets into central Kentucky late evening through the wee hours of the morning and then into the east by Thursday morning.<\/li>\n<li>The severe threat looks to diminish the farther east the line gets, but the potential for damaging wind and a few tornadoes should reach into central Kentucky.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Much cooler and drier air sweeps in behind this for Thursday with highs in the 60s.<\/p>\n<p>Friday&#8217;s weather looks pretty good with 60s and a chance for a run at 70. We may see a scattered shower or storm move in Friday night and Saturday to kick off that Easter Weekend. Behind that comes a system that can bring some cool showers for Easter Sunday&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"css-9pa8cd\" draggable=\"true\" src=\"https:\/\/pbs.twimg.com\/media\/FQFtOxXWQAMz8WM?format=png&amp;name=medium\" alt=\"Image\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This is ahead of another ugly setup moving in early next week. Chilly showers really kick in for Sunday night and Monday&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"css-9pa8cd\" draggable=\"true\" src=\"https:\/\/pbs.twimg.com\/media\/FQFtQbtXsAc7WcD?format=jpg&amp;name=large\" alt=\"Image\" \/><\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s being pushed by another winter look and, yes, there&#8217;s model support for those flakes I&#8217;m worried about. Here&#8217;s the EURO for next Tuesday&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"css-9pa8cd\" draggable=\"true\" src=\"https:\/\/pbs.twimg.com\/media\/FQFtR87XMA4aoNh?format=jpg&amp;name=large\" alt=\"Image\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This is coming from ANOTHER massive upper low spinning through the region&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"css-9pa8cd\" draggable=\"true\" src=\"https:\/\/pbs.twimg.com\/media\/FQFuOjGXMAYyXfj?format=png&amp;name=medium\" alt=\"Image\" \/><\/p>\n<p>That looks a lot like what just happened a few days ago and is a continuation of this ugly spring. If you&#8217;re a regular reader of KWC, you knew this was coming as it&#8217;s been on my radar since back in January.<\/p>\n<p>I will have updates as needed and will have the latest on WKYT-TV starting at 4pm.
