It&#8217;s not the best Derby Day in the bluegrass state as temps come in well below normal with a few showers scattered about the region. Hang tough, my friends, a little summer preview is on the way for the week ahead.<\/p>\n<p>Low pressure continues to spin on top of us and it&#8217;s keeping low clouds and chilly May temps in place. Temps range from the 50s for the eastern half of the state to the mid and upper 60s in the west. Gusty showers will also show up across the eastern half of the state. This brings us to an interesting pattern for next week and it&#8217;s one that will give us a taste of summer temps. Check out the ridge popping over us as a low cuts off along the southeast coast&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"css-9pa8cd\" draggable=\"true\" src=\"https:\/\/pbs.twimg.com\/media\/FSHk8BZXwAE_Xvl?format=png&amp;name=medium\" alt=\"Image\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Yes, that&#8217;s the same system spinning over us today. The fact it slows down like that clogs up the pattern and lets temps really take off. Highs should be deep into the 80s for much of next week&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"css-9pa8cd\" draggable=\"true\" src=\"https:\/\/pbs.twimg.com\/media\/FSHlAcRXsAEkOUV?format=png&amp;name=medium\" alt=\"Image\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Western Kentucky may push 90 on a day or two.<\/p>\n<p>By the end of the week, that upper level low starts to push back toward the west some&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"css-9pa8cd\" draggable=\"true\" src=\"https:\/\/pbs.twimg.com\/media\/FSHk9atX0AM1cfE?format=png&amp;name=medium\" alt=\"Image\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This could bring the chance for a few showers and storms in here&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"css-9pa8cd\" draggable=\"true\" src=\"https:\/\/pbs.twimg.com\/media\/FSHk-_6WUAEn2qe?format=png&amp;name=medium\" alt=\"Image\" \/><\/p>\n<p>So, the same system hitting our region yesterday and today may impact our weather again in a week.
