We have a cold front rolling across Kentucky today and this is bringing a few rounds of showers and thunderstorms with it. This continues to be part of a very stormy pattern it looks to continue into the final full week of May.<\/p>\n<p>Let&#8217;s begin with what is happening out there today and roll forward. Scattered showers and some thunderstorms will be noted but this action isn&#8217;t terribly widespread. The greatest concentration will be across the eastern half of Kentucky through the afternoon. This sets the stage for a much cooler Monday with daytime highs that may stay in the mid and upper 60s for much of the region&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/pbs.twimg.com\/media\/FTTnzG2XEAAmbDH?format=png&amp;name=medium\" alt=\"Image\" \/><\/p>\n<p>There is also the chance for a few lingering showers across the east and the southeast. If that&#8217;s the case temperatures could be held even cooler and the rest of the state.<\/p>\n<p>A bowling ball upper level system then makes its way toward the region by late Tuesday and will bring an increase in some late day showers and thunderstorms&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/pbs.twimg.com\/media\/FTTnAkLWAAEp4Ww?format=png&amp;name=900x900\" alt=\"Image\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This looks like a very slow moving system with repeat showers and thunderstorms Wednesday into Thursday. A few of the storms could be on the strong side but I&#8217;m more concerned about the possibility of heavy rains in a setup like this&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/pbs.twimg.com\/media\/FTTnAkIWUAAjBCI?format=jpg&amp;name=large\" alt=\"Image\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Check out the heavy rain forecast from now through Memorial Day on the GFS&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/pbs.twimg.com\/media\/FTTnwx-XwAEfEdr?format=png&amp;name=medium\" alt=\"Image\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Once again, local high water issues will be possible before we get to the big Memorial Day weekend. Temperatures during this time will likely be normal to a little below normal. Once into the holiday weekend, I&#8217;m hoping this system moves away quick enough to give us a mainly dry sky.
