It&#8217;s another pleasant day across Kentucky but Mother Nature is about to collect on all this nice weather she&#8217;s given us. You know what they say&#8230; Paybacks a bit&#8230; hot. &#x1f975;&#x1f975; Temps are set to soar as our heat index heads into the danger category in the coming days.<\/p>\n<p>Let&#8217;s start with today. Highs are in the upper 70s to low 80s with a mix of sun and clouds with just a small chance for a shower or thunderstorm. The SPC has the area in the low-end risk&#8230;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.spc.noaa.gov\/public\/state\/images\/KY_swody2.png\" \/><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>MONDAY<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Highs surge into the mid and upper 90s in the west with a local 100 possible. Upper 80s and low 90s will be noted in the east.<\/li>\n<li>Heat index values reach the danger category for many. 100-110 for the west and around 100 in the east.<\/li>\n<li>We are still watching for a storm clusters across the central and east and this shows up well on some models. Some of these may be strong\u00a0 or severe&#8230;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"css-9pa8cd\" draggable=\"true\" src=\"https:\/\/pbs.twimg.com\/media\/FU6dXCqWAAEiAkA?format=jpg&amp;name=large\" alt=\"Image\" \/><\/p>\n<h2><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.spc.noaa.gov\/public\/state\/images\/KY_swody3.png\" \/><\/h2>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>TUESDAY<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>This looks like the core of the heat wave.<\/li>\n<li>Highs will be around 100 in the west with low and middle 90s east.<\/li>\n<li>Heat index values across the state will be between 100 and 110 degrees.<\/li>\n<li>There&#8217;s still a storm risk<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>WEDNESDAY<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>The numbers are likely to come down a few degrees from Tuesday.<\/li>\n<li>Highs of 95-100 in the west and 90-95 east.<\/li>\n<li>Heat index values will still be in the 100-110 category.<\/li>\n<li>There&#8217;s the chance for a storm or two to go up. This could really help us out if they go up early enough.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>THURSDAY<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>A cold front drops in from the northwest late in the day.<\/li>\n<li>Showers and storms increase, and the threat is there for strong to severe storms.<\/li>\n<li>Highs ahead of this front will still be in the 90-95 degree range with a heat index around 100 or so.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>FRIDAY<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Feels much better as we break the real deal heat as the front moves through&#8230;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"css-9pa8cd\" draggable=\"true\" src=\"https:\/\/pbs.twimg.com\/media\/FU6dYbcWQAAnsOM?format=jpg&amp;name=large\" alt=\"Image\" \/><\/p>\n<p>That brings much better air next weekend as temps try to turn awfully pleasant once again.
