We have a seasonable late August weather day taking shape across the region, but a couple of cold fronts look to change things up a bit in the coming days. Those changes include the threat for thunderstorms and a cooler look as we inch closer to Labor Day Weekend.<\/p>\n<p>Let&#8217;s begin things with what&#8217;s going on out there today. Highs are deep into the 80s with a mix of sun and clouds. There&#8217;s just enough moisture for a shower or storm to go up across the far south and southeast.<\/p>\n<p>Whatever&#8217;s out there will show up on your radars\u2026<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/builder.zoomradar.net\/zoomradar_weather_map\/weather_page.php?key=dlFZs5IY4VCw7bK\" width=\"560\" height=\"450\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" seamless=\"seamless\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.accuweather.com\/radar-large.asp?partner=netweather&amp;traveler=0&amp;site=KY_&amp;type=SIR&amp;anim=1&amp;level=state&amp;large=1#\"><strong><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"jetpack-lazy-image jetpack-lazy-image--handled lazyloaded\" src=\"https:\/\/sirocco.accuweather.com\/nx_mosaic_640x480_public\/sir\/inmaSIRKY_.gif\" alt=\"\" usemap=\"#largemap\" data-src=\"https:\/\/sirocco.accuweather.com\/nx_mosaic_640x480_public\/sir\/inmaSIRKY_.gif\" data-lazy-loaded=\"1\" \/><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>A lingering shower or storm hangs around into Saturday, but most stay dry through the weekend. Temps are seasonable in the mid and upper 80s.<\/p>\n<p>The models continue to figure out the evolution of the pattern for next week, but we are likely to see showers and storms increase for Monday and Tuesday with a trough digging in behind that for the start of September. You can see that on the EURO&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/EURO-18.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-54459\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/EURO-18.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"984\" height=\"808\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Canadian has a wetter look to it for the close of August into the start of the new month&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/CANADIAN-11.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-54458\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/CANADIAN-11.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"984\" height=\"808\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>You will notice I really don&#8217;t use the GFS very much. That&#8217;s because it&#8217;s had one of the worst stretches of forecasting I&#8217;ve ever seen a model have.<\/p>\n<p>If we look longer range, we find the EURO Ensembles showing much more of a trough digging into the east later in the first week of September&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/EURO-3-1.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-54457\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/EURO-3-1.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"984\" height=\"808\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Control run of the EURO Ensembles is even more emphatic with that trough&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/EURO-4-1.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-54456\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/EURO-4-1.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"984\" height=\"808\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We are getting into the time of year when a lot depends on the tropics and the NHC continues to follow a few systems trying to flare up&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.nhc.noaa.gov\/xgtwo\/two_atl_5d0.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We have yet to have a named storm in August.
