We&#8217;ve made it to the end of the week and rolling into the final weekend of August. Wait&#8230; What? Yep, it&#8217;s the last weekend of the month and we are tracking a weak cold front into the state today. This brings a few showers and storms ahead of a bigger system early next week.<\/p>\n<p>Before I start this, let me share a tweet I sent Thursday&#8230;<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">It&#39;s another day of fairly pleasant temps with low 80s in the east and upper 80s in the west. When did these numbers qualify as being called &quot;hot&quot; in August? Mid and upper 80s are normal right now and many areas didn&#8217;t even get there.<\/p>\n<p>Today&#8217;s showers and storms are rather scattered in nature, but those will be floating around the region. A 90 may show up in the west and there&#8217;s just a small threat for a shower or storm to pop.<\/p>\n<p>The setup for next week features a trough digging into the Great Lakes and northeast and that may send a slow-moving boundary toward the region. This thing has a chance to really slow down and bring rounds of showers and storms to us next week and, perhaps, into the start of the Labor Day Weekend.<\/p>\n<p>The GFS is actually picking up on the potential&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/GFS-11.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-54463\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/GFS-11.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"984\" height=\"808\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This is something the Canadian has been on for a few days now&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/CANADIAN-12.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-54464\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/CANADIAN-12.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"984\" height=\"808\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The EURO goes back and forth between a stalled boundary and a front just blasting quickly through here. The latest run is of the progressive nature&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/EURO-19.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-54465\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/EURO-19.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"984\" height=\"808\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s hoping the EURO is correct on that, but I suspect the tropics may have something to say as I do think something sneaks through the Caribbean and into the Gulf of Mexico next week.
