We continue to have a frigid mid-October air mass push into our region and this will may bring a very early season taste of winter. The first flakes of the season are possible later tonight and Tuesday morning.<\/p>\n<p>I really have zero changes to my overall thought process on how things roll over the next few days.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s a breakdown:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>As a strong northwest flow kicks in tonight, a plume of rain and snow showers from Lake Michigan will develop. For a time, this band may be oriented in a fashion that can bring some snowflakes into central and eastern Kentucky.<\/li>\n<li>There&#8217;s even the chance for a few out and out snow showers to get into the state. Rooftop duster for someone?<\/li>\n<li>The chance for some flakes and clouds complicates the Tuesday morning low forecast. Let\u2019s simplify this\u2026 If you have clear skies all night and into Tuesday morning, your temps reach 20-25 and likely shatter records. If you have clouds, you temps will be upper 20s to low 30s.<\/li>\n<li>Wind chills will drop into the upper teens and low 20s for some spots Tuesday morning.<\/li>\n<li>The rest of your Tuesday will feature temps likely staying in the 40s for much of the area. Gusty winds make it feel much colder.<\/li>\n<li>There&#8217;s also the chance for a rain or snow shower to hang around in the north and northeast through Tuesday evening.<\/li>\n<li>This sets the stage for another chance to set record lows on Wednesday morning. Lows will hit the low and middle 20s across much of the state.
