It&#8217;s another in a long line of ugly weather days across Kentucky with low clouds and some showers. This pattern breaks for a bit over the next few days, but things really change after that. Those changes show up in a full blown mid-winter pattern setting up.<\/p>\n<p>As always, we start with the precious present. Another weak system is pushing to the east through the lower Ohio Valley and Tennessee Valley. This is bringing some light showers from west to east today into tonight.<\/p>\n<p>Your radars are getting quite the workout here in early December\u2026<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/builder.zoomradar.net\/zoomradar_weather_map\/weather_page.php?key=dlFZs5IY4VCw7bK\" width=\"560\" height=\"450\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" seamless=\"seamless\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.accuweather.com\/radar-large.asp?partner=netweather&amp;traveler=0&amp;site=KY_&amp;type=SIR&amp;anim=1&amp;level=state&amp;large=1#\"><strong><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"jetpack-lazy-image jetpack-lazy-image--handled lazyloaded\" src=\"https:\/\/sirocco.accuweather.com\/nx_mosaic_640x480_public\/sir\/inmaSIRKY_.gif\" alt=\"\" usemap=\"#largemap\" data-src=\"https:\/\/sirocco.accuweather.com\/nx_mosaic_640x480_public\/sir\/inmaSIRKY_.gif\" data-lazy-loaded=\"1\" \/><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Some leftover light showers will hang into early Sunday with low clouds likely staying tough through the day. Temps start to come down to seasonable levels and we hang there through Monday. That&#8217;s the day we have a chance to see some rays of sun.<\/p>\n<p>You guys are probably tired of hearing this, but my thoughts on how things play out next week have not changed.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Temps spike on Tuesday as clouds increase ahead of the storm to the west.<\/li>\n<li>Rain then sweeps east to west across the state late Tuesday night through Wednesday night.<\/li>\n<li>The trend with this whole setup is actually trending colder as we get closer.<\/li>\n<li>Wind gusts of 40mph or greater will also be possible.<\/li>\n<li>A cold front slams in here late Wednesday or early Thursday with dropping temps behind it.<\/li>\n<li>With a lot of upper level energy passing through here, and ample low level moisture, periods of light snow and flurries may show up by Thursday night and Friday.<\/li>\n<li>Light snow and snow showers will be possible into next weekend.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Canadian Model continues to be THE most consistent model in this whole setup&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/Canadian-19.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-56532\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/Canadian-19.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"984\" height=\"808\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Euro is similar&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/EURO-20.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-56534\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/EURO-20.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"984\" height=\"808\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The GFS continues to be in a world all alone as it pretty much loses the whole thing&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/GFS-23.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-56535\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/GFS-23.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"984\" height=\"808\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Ensembles continue to have a very cold look for most of the country following that storm and that includes the week leading up to Christmas and into Christmas Weekend&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/Canadian-2-13.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-56531\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/Canadian-2-13.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"984\" height=\"808\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Snow chances are expected during this time, as well&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/Canadian-10.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-56533\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/Canadian-10.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"962\" height=\"763\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/Canadian-10.png 962w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/Canadian-10-300x238.png 300w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/Canadian-10-768x609.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 962px) 100vw, 962px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ll update things later today.
