We have a busy weather day across the Bluegrass state and surrounding states. Rounds of strong to severe storms may cause issues and put down enough rain to cause high water issues.<\/p>\n<p>Let&#8217;s start with a breakdown of this system:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Rounds of showers and storms will be rumbling across the region as a cold front stalls on top of us.<\/li>\n<li>The greatest threat for storms is across the northern half of the state and into the west.<\/li>\n<li>Areas of the southeast will see more scattered stuff with temps back into the 70s.<\/li>\n<li>Storms will be moving over some of the same areas one right after another. That&#8217;s where some flooding issues develop.<\/li>\n<li>Some of these storms may also be strong to severe.<\/li>\n<li>Low pressure rolls into the Ohio Valley tonight and will have a line of strong to severe storms ahead of it.<\/li>\n<li>This line develops in western Kentucky and rolls across the rest of the state this evening into the wee hours of Saturday morning.<\/li>\n<li>Damaging winds will be possible with this line. There&#8217;s also the threat for a tornado or two in the west.<\/li>\n<li>As this line works out of eastern Kentucky early Saturday, high winds may briefly develop behind it. Gusts of 50mph with some sun will be possible Saturday morning.<\/li>\n<li>The rest of Saturday looks pretty decent with just a scattered shower or storm and mild temps.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Storm Prediction Center has much of the state in an increased risk for severe storms today&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.spc.noaa.gov\/public\/state\/images\/KY_swody1.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Sunday and Monday look windy and fairly mild as we get set for another front to move in on Tuesday. This only has a small threat for a shower or storm with it, but it will unleash some colder than normal temps for the middle of next week.<\/p>\n<p>Watch how we go from well below normal temps to much above by the end of the week&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/GFS-27.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-58916\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/GFS-27.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"984\" height=\"808\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>That warm up is ahead of what looks to be a potent plains storm system that could bring another severe risk to our region to end March and kick off April&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/GFS-2-10.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-58915\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/GFS-2-10.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"984\" height=\"808\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I will have another update later today so check back.
