It&#8217;s a day straight out of late May or early June as temps soar ahead of a potent storm system. This brings the potential for some strong and severe storms, especially late Wednesday and Wednesday night.<\/p>\n<p>Highs today are generally in the 80-85 degree range for much of the state as a gusty southwest wind kicks in. This may be accompanied by a few showers and storms this morning and early afternoon. Tornadoes and damaging wind will be likely in some of the same areas hardest hit on Friday. There&#8217;s a low-end risk for a few strong or severe storms in western Kentucky today&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.spc.noaa.gov\/partners\/outlooks\/state\/images\/KY_swody1.png?1680570124\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This system is slowing down and that means a REALLY warm Wednesday. Temps should be back into the 80-85 degree range for much of central and eastern Kentucky&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/nam-1.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-59090\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/nam-1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"959\" height=\"763\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/nam-1.png 959w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/nam-1-300x239.png 300w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/nam-1-768x611.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 959px) 100vw, 959px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The threat for severe storms then moves into our region late Wednesday and Wednesday night. Here&#8217;s the Severe Weather Outlook for Wednesday where much of the region is now under the Enhanced Risk&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.spc.noaa.gov\/partners\/outlooks\/state\/images\/KY_swody2.png?1680586574\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Check out the increased risk for damaging winds with this outlook&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.spc.noaa.gov\/partners\/outlooks\/state\/images\/KY_swody2_WIND.png?1680586866\" \/><\/p>\n<p>And the tornado risk&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.spc.noaa.gov\/partners\/outlooks\/state\/images\/KY_swody2_TORN.png?1680586747\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The cold front presses through here Wednesday night and early Thursday, bringing chill air into the region. Check out the temps from 11pm Wednesday through 8pm Thursday&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/NAM.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-59091\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/NAM.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"984\" height=\"808\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Temps start to bubble back closer to normal by Friday and into Saturday as we head into Easter Weekend on an improving note. The trend on the EURO Ensembles is for this system to be farther east and southeast with a big ridge of high pressure building in&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/EURO-3.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-59088\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/EURO-3.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"984\" height=\"808\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>That would bring a fairly warm spell in here to go along with calmer skies!
