Good evening, folks. It’s a windy and warm day across Kentucky as we threaten to break record highs for the day. Once into Friday, changes blow in and those changes will take us into a colder than normal setup for the closing days of April and into early May.<\/p>\n

Highs today reach the low and middle 80s with a mostly sunny sky. Dry air and gusty winds will help fuel additional forest fires, so please abide by local burn restrictions.<\/p>\n

The system moving in later Friday and Saturday looks a little speedier and that’s a good thing. Scattered showers and storms move into western Kentucky tonight and then into central and eastern Kentucky late Friday. Showers and storms will move through quicker on Saturday with some clearing taking place as colder winds settle in behind this boundary…<\/p>\n

With a faster front, the sky for Sunday also looks better, but there’s a catch. It now looks like a frost and light freeze threat is also with us for Sunday morning in addition to Monday morning. Green thumbs are on high alert.<\/p>\n

Temps do rebound a bit into the middle of next week ahead of another storm system. The models waffle a bit on the track of this thing as evidenced by the Euro being a bit south with it…<\/p>\n

That’s likely coming farther north into our region, but the colder than normal numbers aren’t going away anytime soon. Look at the temp departures from normal from this weekend through next week…<\/p>\n

How about the first 5 days of May on those same ENSEMBLES? Ugh…<\/p>\n
