Severe weather has been slamming the region for much of the past week but things are slowly calming down. This means better weather for the 4th of July before we go right back into a stormy setup later this week into the weekend.<\/p>\n<p>As expected, the most widespread severe weather of the recent event hit the region Sunday. Wind damage was fairly widespread and my Twitter feed has the full recap of the severe storms&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"twitter-timeline\" data-width=\"1080\" data-height=\"1000\" data-dnt=\"true\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Kentuckyweather?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">Tweets by Kentuckyweather<\/a><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>The cloud shots are amazing to see.<\/p>\n<p>Some areas of the state also picked up more than 5&#8243; of rain on the weekend and that includes Lexington. Yowza.<\/p>\n<p>A few leftover showers and storms will be possible today but much of the region is dry with temps in the 80s. That brings the chance for a few strong storms with it.
