We have a calmer and better weather day taking shape across the region but this won&#8217;t last long as another potent system is on the way. This arrives later Wednesday into Thursday with another one likely over the weekend.<\/p>\n<p>Let&#8217;s kick things off with what&#8217;s going on out there today.<\/p>\n<p>Our very atypical early August pattern is throwing some wraparound clouds and spotting showers and storms into the region on a cooler northwest flow. Highs today will be upper 70s to low 80s in the east with low and middle 80s west.<\/p>\n<p>Here are you radars to follow whatever goes up out there today\u2026<\/p>\n<div class=\"post-wrap\">\n<div class=\"post-content entry-content\">\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.accuweather.com\/radar-large.asp?partner=netweather&amp;traveler=0&amp;site=KY_&amp;type=SIR&amp;anim=1&amp;level=state&amp;large=1#\"><strong><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"jetpack-lazy-image jetpack-lazy-image--handled lazyloaded\" src=\"https:\/\/sirocco.accuweather.com\/nx_mosaic_640x480_public\/sir\/inmaSIRKY_.gif\" alt=\"\" usemap=\"#largemap\" data-src=\"https:\/\/sirocco.accuweather.com\/nx_mosaic_640x480_public\/sir\/inmaSIRKY_.gif\" data-lazy-loaded=\"1\" \/><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The next storm system will throw rounds of showers and storms into western Kentucky on Wednesday and across the rest of the region Wednesday night and Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>The Storm Prediction Center has a low-end severe threat across the western half of the state on Wednesday&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.spc.noaa.gov\/partners\/outlooks\/state\/images\/KY_swody2.png?1691429588\" \/><\/p>\n<p>These storms may also put down enough rain to cause local high water concerns for some areas. Here&#8217;s the Excessive Rainfall Outlook from the Weather Prediction Center for Wednesday&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.wpc.ncep.noaa.gov\/exper\/eromap\/statemaps\/KY_Day2.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s the same outlook for Thursday&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.wpc.ncep.noaa.gov\/exper\/eromap\/statemaps\/KY_Day3.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>As mentioned, this system will be followed up by another system later this weekend and early next week. Unfortunately, this is what most weather apps and walking, talking human weather apps regurgitate.<\/p>\n<p>I will talk about winter with the next update.
