Our cold front is finally pressing to the south and that&#8217;s allowing for cooler and drier weather to take control. This continues into the first of the week before a likely Gulf hurricane becomes the center of attention and the number one influencer of the pattern.<\/p>\n<p>Temps today range from the upper 70s to low 80s for many. Skies will feature a mix of sun and clouds with the chance for a shower or thunderstorm across the south and southeast, especially. There&#8217;s still the chance for a shower or storm to go up, especially in the south and east. The Future Radar from the Hi Res NAM shows this action increasing Monday night and Tuesday morning&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/NAM-4.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-60561\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/NAM-4.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"984\" height=\"808\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Everything from this point hinges upon what will become Hurricane Idalia in the eastern Gulf of Mexico. This storm is going to be a problem for Florida and it&#8217;s currently getting its act together&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.star.nesdis.noaa.gov\/GOES16\/ABI\/SECTOR\/gm\/GEOCOLOR\/GOES16-GM-GEOCOLOR-1000x1000.gif\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s the latest information and forecast cone from the National Hurricane Center&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.nhc.noaa.gov\/storm_graphics\/AT10\/refresh\/AL102023_5day_cone_no_line_and_wind+png\/205449_5day_cone_no_line_and_wind.png\" alt=\"cone graphic\" \/><\/p>\n<p>That forecast is essentially the forecast from the Hurricane Models&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tropicaltidbits.com\/storminfo\/10L_tracks_latest.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The GFS Ensembles are correcting toward this solution&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tropicaltidbits.com\/storminfo\/10L_gefs_latest.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In addition to this storm, we have Hurricane Franklin likely staying well off the east coast&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.nhc.noaa.gov\/storm_graphics\/AT08\/refresh\/AL082023_5day_cone_no_line_and_wind+png\/024920_5day_cone_no_line_and_wind.png\" alt=\"cone graphic\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Looking beyond this burst in the tropics, the pattern back here can get pretty darn toasty through the first half of September. Summer sizzle didn&#8217;t really arrive until this past week and it looks like it wants to work a little overtime into the start of Meteorological Fall.
