It&#8217;s another day of nice temps, but rather dreary skies as another storm system impacts the region. This brings showers back in from the southwest and it has, at least, two more systems coming behind it. Those bring colder temps along for the ride.<\/p>\n<p>Today starts with some mist and scattered showers with showers increasing from southwest to northeast today into tonight. That also comes with colder air slowly pushing in from the northwest, setting the stage for another ugly weather maker on Monday. Chilly showers zip across the area with temps in the 40s. This sets the stage for a clipper to drop in here Tuesday and Tuesday night. A few showers accompany this and, as cold air crashes in, some snow showers or flakes will be possible behind it through Wednesday&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/GFS-1.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-62172\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/GFS-1.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"984\" height=\"808\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Monday system is likely just rain, but the EURO actually sees a few flakes&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/EURO-4.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-62174\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/EURO-4.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"967\" height=\"723\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/EURO-4.png 967w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/EURO-4-300x224.png 300w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/EURO-4-768x574.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 967px) 100vw, 967px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I continue to watch the MJO and we are seeing the forecast speeding this through the warmer phases enroute toward the colder phases&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>GFS MJO FORECAST<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/MJO.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-62166\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/MJO.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"567\" height=\"602\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/MJO.png 567w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/MJO-283x300.png 283w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 567px) 100vw, 567px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>EUROMJOFORECAST<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-62167\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/MJO-2.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"565\" height=\"601\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/MJO-2.png 565w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/MJO-2-282x300.png 282w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 565px) 100vw, 565px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Phases 3, 4, 5 and 6 are warmer phases, but you see both the GFS and EURO getting into phase 7 by December 13th. That&#8217;s a colder phase&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/MJO-NOVEMBER-PHASE.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-62117\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/MJO-NOVEMBER-PHASE.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"476\" height=\"680\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/MJO-NOVEMBER-PHASE.png 476w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/MJO-NOVEMBER-PHASE-210x300.png 210w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 476px) 100vw, 476px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The operational models are starting to see that transition with the potential for a big storm in between&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>GFS<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/GFS-2-1.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-62171\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/GFS-2-1.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"984\" height=\"808\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Canadian is a bit quicker&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/Canadian-1.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-62170\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/Canadian-1.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"984\" height=\"808\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Low and behold, we also find the EURO Weeklies seeing these colder phases locking in later in December and early January.
