Gloomy weather continues across central and eastern Kentucky as we get set for a pattern change. This change kicks off with some light snow that may stick into parts of the region later this week.<\/p>\n<p>In the short-term, we continue to track rain across the eastern half of the state. This is working from south to north and can be locally heavy at times into the overnight. Here are your radars for the evening\u2026<\/p>\n<div class=\"post-wrap\">\n<div class=\"post-content entry-content\">\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/builder.zoomradar.net\/zoomradar_weather_map\/weather_page.php?key=dlFZs5IY4VCw7bK\" width=\"560\" height=\"450\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" seamless=\"seamless\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.accuweather.com\/radar-large.asp?partner=netweather&amp;traveler=0&amp;site=KY_&amp;type=SIR&amp;anim=1&amp;level=state&amp;large=1#\"><strong><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"jetpack-lazy-image jetpack-lazy-image--handled lazyloaded\" src=\"https:\/\/sirocco.accuweather.com\/nx_mosaic_640x480_public\/sir\/inmaSIRKY_.gif\" alt=\"\" usemap=\"#largemap\" data-src=\"https:\/\/sirocco.accuweather.com\/nx_mosaic_640x480_public\/sir\/inmaSIRKY_.gif\" data-lazy-loaded=\"1\" \/><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The upper-level low spins into the region Thursday and Friday and brings a bit of a mix on the front end and areas of light snow from Thursday night through early Saturday. That&#8217;s when some light accumulations are very possible. Once again, we find the Canadian with the steady hand&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/CANADIAN-30.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-62721\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/CANADIAN-30.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"984\" height=\"808\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This system is now mainly within the timeframe of the NAM and it looks rather similar through Friday evening&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/NAM-20.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-62719\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/NAM-20.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"984\" height=\"808\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Hi Res NAM doesn&#8217;t go out as far, but you can see the light snow pinwheeling in from the northwest Thursday afternoon and evening&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/NAM-2-5.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-62720\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/NAM-2-5.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"984\" height=\"808\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Even the GFS is coming around to seeing this&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/GFS-41.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-62723\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/GFS-41.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"984\" height=\"808\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Again, this will likely require a First Call For Snowfall map at some point tonight or Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>A clipper follows this up by New Year&#8217;s Eve and Day. Again, the Canadian has been pretty consistent with some light snow and snow showers&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/CANADIAN-2-8.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-62722\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/CANADIAN-2-8.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"984\" height=\"808\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The GFS has this as well, but it&#8217;s trying to wrap this up a little more with a second low trying to pop along it&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/GFS-3-3.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-62726\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/GFS-3-3.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"984\" height=\"808\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>All this leads us into what&#8217;s likely to be a wintry January and February.
